Do you dream of living in a cozy cabin or a backcountry tent? Does the thought of enjoying the beauty and adventure of British Columbia’s backcountry make your heart sing? Well, here’s some great news – BC Parks is currently accepting applications for two backcountry host volunteer opportunities.
The backcountry hosts will be stationed at Croteau Lake – Strathcona Park on Vancouver Island and Cold Fish Lake Camp- Spatsizi Plateau Wilderness Park (flight costs from Dease Lake are covered by BC Parks). As a backcountry host, you will be provided with free accommodation, and you will be crucial in enhancing the visitor experience by greeting hikers and providing them with location-specific information. The responsibilities of backcountry hosts are different depending on the location.
