Golden Ears Park will reopen for camping as storm repairs near completion. Reservations for the three front-country campgrounds—Gold Creek, Alouette, and North Beach—open on March 19. Gold Creek sites will be available starting March 28, while Alouette and North Beach will open on April 16.
Reservations can be made starting March 19 at 7 a.m. on a four-month rolling basis, with bookings extending up to July 19 at launch. Visitors should plan as demand is expected to be high.
The park suffered heavy damage from October 2024 floods, which washed out sections of Golden Ears Parkway and trails. Repairs are on track to restore full vehicle access by March 17, though some areas will have single-lane alternating traffic until early May.
“We know it was difficult having the park closed, but visitor safety is our priority,” said Tamara Davidson, Minister of Environment and Parks. “We worked quickly so families can return this spring.”
“Golden Ears Park is cherished by the residents of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows,” said Lisa Beare, MLA for Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows. “It’s a destination that brings people together from across B.C. and beyond, and I’m thrilled that access to the park will soon be open for individuals and families to enjoy once again.”
Mayor Dan Ruimy thanked BC Parks for restoring access, noting the park’s importance to local businesses. Some trails remain closed, and visitors are advised to check the BC Parks website for updates.
