Fraser Health is advising the public that scheduled steam purges will take place as part of the system startup for the new Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower at Royal Columbian Hospital.
During these purges, steam resembling smoke may be visible coming from the tower. This is a routine part of the construction process, and there is no cause for concern.
Scheduled steam purges:
- March 11 – Approximately 2 to 3 hours
- March 13 – Approximately 2 to 3 hours
- March 17 – Approximately 4 to 5 hours
All purges will occur during regular construction hours. Dates and durations may be subject to change.
No impact to the public:
These activities will not affect neighbouring residents, pedestrians, or vehicle traffic.
