A 25-year-old man is facing multiple firearms-related charges following an investigation by the Coquitlam RCMP Gang Enforcement Team (CGET).
The BC Prosecution Service approved four charges against Tyrel O’Hearn on February 4, 2025, including:
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Occupying a vehicle knowing a prohibited firearm was present
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession was unauthorized
- Improper storage or transportation of a firearm
“These charges come after an extensive investigation by our Gang Enforcement Team,” said Constable John Graham, media relations officer for Coquitlam RCMP. “CGET conducts proactive patrols and investigations to help keep firearms and gang activity off our streets and out of our communities.”
O’Hearn has been released by the courts under multiple conditions, including a prohibition on possessing weapons. His next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
