Princess Catherine of Wales has announced she is being treated for cancer. In a heartfelt video she posted on Twitter, the princess announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.
In January, the princess underwent what she described as “major abdominal surgery,” during which her condition was initially believed to be “non-cancerous.” Catherine has now disclosed that she is currently in the “early stages” of preventive chemotherapy. However, it was not revealed what specific type of cancer she was being treated for.

The 42-year-old princess, wedded to Prince William, the heir to the British throne, recounted her journey, beginning with the major abdominal surgery she underwent in London in January.
“At the time, it was believed to be non-cancerous,” Catherine revealed, “yet subsequent tests revealed the presence of cancer. Consequently, my medical team recommended a course of preventive chemotherapy, which I have since commenced.”
The princess shared the emotional toll the diagnosis had taken on her and her family, emphasizing their concerted efforts to cope with the news privately, particularly for the sake of their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.
“We have taken the necessary time to explain the situation to them in a manner appropriate for their understanding and to assure them of my recovery,” Catherine explained, her voice filled with resolve.
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, she expressed gratitude for Prince William’s unwavering support and the public’s outpouring of encouragement. “Your kindness has been a beacon of strength during this trying time,” she said. “While my work has always been a source of joy, my priority now is my health and well-being,” she asserted.
