A man has had charges approved against him following an incident that occurred yesterday, February 26, 2025, in Surrey’s City Centre neighbourhood where he allegedly threatened bystanders with a weapon.
Shortly before 10:30 am, Surrey Police Service Frontline officers responded to reports of a man who was allegedly threatening people with a weapon. Officers arrived and attempted to take the man into custody, but the man refused to comply with officer’s orders to drop the weapon and officers used a less-lethal impact weapon to gain compliance and were able to take the man into custody safely.
Gajinder Shokeen, a 24-year-old male, has been charged with one count each of resisting or obstructing peace officers in the lawful execution of their duty, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose Gajinder Shokeen has been remanded in custody until a future court date can be set.
