Port Coquitlam’s business community took center stage at the 10th annual PoCo Best Biz Awards, held Thursday at Mabbett Hall in the Port Coquitlam Community Centre. Over 150 attendees gathered to celebrate the city’s 4,400 businesses and recognize outstanding achievements in five key categories.
2024 PoCo Best Biz Award Winners:
- Small Business of the Year: Reclaim Rehabilitation Consulting (Recognized for exceptional customer service, community contributions, and leadership in social and cultural responsibility.)
- Business of the Year: Excel Martial Arts Port Coquitlam (Honored for outstanding customer service, leadership, and positive community impact.)
- New Business of the Year: La Boulangerie (Celebrated for innovation, growth potential, and creative problem-solving.)
- PoCo Downtown BIA Business of the Year: In a Wink Beautique (Acknowledged for business growth, sustainability, and excellence in customer service.)
- People’s Choice Award: Holistic Sleep Solutions (Voted by the public from all nominees; Runner-up: Foxy Box Wax Bar.)
In honor of the event’s 10th anniversary, the City also presented a Legacy Business of the Year Award to PoCo Building Supplies, recognizing its 25+ years of dedicated service and deep-rooted community involvement. “PoCo Building Supplies exemplifies what it means to be a legacy business in Port Coquitlam,” said Mayor Brad West. “Their decades of service, commitment, and support for local initiatives have made them a cornerstone of our city.”
This year’s awards saw 233 nominations across categories, with the People’s Choice Award alone attracting over 3,500 public votes. A panel of representatives from the City of Port Coquitlam, the PoCo BIA, and the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce selected winners.
The City thanked its event sponsors, including the PoCo BIA, Nice Life, Richelle Nails & Spa, Saputo Dairy Products, Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, and TriCity News.
