Tricity Local News exists so that a reader looking for a figure about AI, cloud, data, hosting or enterprise IT finds the figure, the organization that measured it and the date, without a vendor’s framing around it.
The problem the site addresses
Most technology statistics reach readers through a vendor’s press release, a paid market report or a secondhand blog that cites neither. The same market is “worth” three different amounts, depending on who counted, over which base year, with which definition. The reader cannot tell which to trust. A journalist or analyst who repeats one of them spreads the confusion a step further.
What the site does about it
Every statistic on the site carries three things: the number, the named source and the date of measurement. Where two sources disagree, both figures appear, with the difference in scope that explains the gap. A projection is labeled as one. A vendor’s own benchmark is attributed to the vendor and paired with an independent figure when one exists, so the reader sees the claim and the check side by side.
Who the work is for
An IT buyer sizing a budget. A founder writing a pitch. An analyst checking a competitor’s claim. A student citing a figure in a paper. A reporter verifying a number before publication. Each of them needs the same thing: a figure they can trace, with its limits stated.
How the mission is kept
Pages are written by a section author and reviewed by a second named editor before publication, then revisited when the source publishes new data and at least once every twelve months. Readers who find an error can report it through the Corrections Policy, and the record of changes stays on the page.
